General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, August 21, reveals that Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) found “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) eating cold lasagna after a night of partying, so she insisted on warming it up for him.
Olivia eventually took a call from Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and worried about all the hospital-related trips she’d been taking. It seemed like Monica was always doing so much for other people, but “Eddie” thought the same could be said for Olivia.
After “Eddie” talked about Elvis being his muse and played Olivia part of a song he was working on, she was deeply moved and encouraged him to finish it.
In Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) suite, she woke up alone and used the opportunity to break in Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) briefcase. Anna pulled out the manila envelope with Pikeman info inside and heard Valentin coming back, which led to the envelope getting left on the table.
Valentin made up more excuses about the ELQ water main leak and noticed the envelope was out.
Anna wanted help nailing down who targeted her, but Valentin acted like it was risky to smoke them out and suggested answers would be difficult to get.
After Anna stepped away to get ready for a meeting with her lawyers, Valentin grabbed the envelope and got summoned via Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) text.
Once Valentin left Anna a note about having dinner together later, he took off.
In a delayed judge’s chambers, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) complained to Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) about the wait and fished for answers on how the auto show went.
Diane acted like it was wonderful and made Robert jealous by hinting about going with someone named Chris Simmons. It seemed like Diane was enjoying messing with Robert, but he had to leave after a call about Anna’s house fire.
In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) kitchen, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) offered updates on the reading she needed to do ahead of the semester and headed to the pool.
Once Carly was alone, she took a call from Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) at Pentonville and admitted Sonny got him out of solitary confinement sooner than planned.
Drew delivered news about getting in trouble when he helped Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), so Carly just wanted Drew to steer clear of him.
Since Drew was out of time on the phone, he asked Carly if she’d come see him today and got a promise that she’d be there.
Afterward, Drew ran into Cyrus, who felt he owed Drew for saving his life. Although Drew insisted they weren’t friends and that Cyrus didn’t owe him anything, Cyrus disagreed.
On Monday’s GH episode, Drew seemed unsettled as Cyrus vowed to repay him for everything he’d done.
Back with Carly, she got a visit from Diane, who was looking for advice regarding her love life.
Carly acted like Diane should ditch Robert if he couldn’t appreciate her, but that wasn’t what Diane wanted to hear.
Outside Sonny’s penthouse, Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini) complained over the phone about having to keep up the nanny gig when she already got the goods.
Once Sonny left Betty inside, he warned that she wasn’t getting anywhere near Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).
Betty was concerned, but Sonny claimed Avery was sick and that he didn’t want Betty to catch it. Instead, Sonny gave Betty the day off and gave her some extra money as she exited.
Sonny then sent Dex to tail Betty, who wound up lounging by the Metro Court pool.
Dex planted a kiss on Josslyn when he arrived and left her a bit puzzled as he put on a romantic show – just so Betty wouldn’t get suspicious.
When Betty suddenly took off, Dex surprised Josslyn once again by abruptly leaving and following her to a nail salon.
Back at Sonny’s place, he grilled Valentin about the heads-up regarding changes in Pikeman management and felt Valentin knew more than he was letting on.
Sonny asked if Valentin worked for Pikeman, but Valentin denied it.
When Sonny angrily threatened to call off his Pikeman dealings, Valentin warned that he couldn’t do that and tried to stress the danger.
After Sonny ended the meeting, Valentin spoke to someone over the phone and hinted about it being a mistake to rush things. Now Valentin felt like they were going to pay the price.
Once Dex called to check in with Sonny, he learned he was getting a new assignment to follow someone else instead of Betty – presumably Valentin.
In Anna’s suite, Robert consoled her over the loss of her house and all the memories inside. Anna got Robert to stay with her while she told Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) about the blaze over video chat.
Later, Anna also gazed suspiciously at Valentin’s note from earlier and felt she had to figure out who she could truly trust.
