Mom shares video of dying 2-year-old daughter’s last moments – “She sang me her favorite song”

As a parent, all you want to do is protect your child from any possible harm and keep them safe.

So watching your child sick and not being able to do anything about it, is possibly the worst thing that can happen to any parent.

Jimenez took her daughter to a doctor when she noticed her in pain. The doctor informed the young mother of the deadly diagnosis; a muscle cancer that was impending the little girl’s physical development and causing pain.

The young mother prepared for battle and knew she had to be strong for her baby girl. She was hopeful about the treatment plan prescribed by Skye’s oncologist. When she saw her little one undergo painful chemotherapy sessions, she wished she could take her place.

After multiple rounds of chemo and check-ups, Skye was finally declared to be in remission. Her family was ecstatic. Little did they know, the little girl would relapse very soon.

In July 2022, the family found out that Skye’s cancer had relapsed. The doctors told the family the cancer was treatment resistant and the only hope was to remove it through surgery. But because of Skye’s young age, she would not have much hope of recovering from the surgery.

The family was devastated. Jimenez realized she would only have a few days or at best, a few weeks with her daughter. She watched as her daughter slowly went from a healthy toddler to a weak one, who could barely walk or talk.

Her mother made the tough decision of admitting her daughter to hospice care, to make the little girl’s final days as comfortable as possible. While every now and then Jimenez went to the bathroom to cry, she always made sure to only smile and laugh with her daughter.

“We will just let her live her life and enjoy her and do all the things that we’ve ever wanted to do with her. We’ve made a bucket list for her,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez’s friend, Davina Galvan, who is also a mother to a child with cancer set up a GoFundMe page for the family to raise $5,000. She wanted her friend Jimenez to have all the funds she needed to fulfill all the things on her daughter’s bucket list.

On August 22, 2022, Skye took her last breaths as her mother bore witness. When Skye passed, her mother hugged her close to her body, heartbroken yet relieved that her little girl was no longer in pain.

A day before her death, little Skye who could barely stand sang a song to her mother, while looking into her eyes. She sang her favorite song, singing, “I love you. You love me. We are a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss kiss. [sic] Won’t you say you love me too?”

Her mother was able to capture the sweet moment on video. She posted the video to show it to the world so that everyone could witness what a sweet little soul the toddler had been; comforting her mother in her last hours.
